MTS ALLSTREAM LUMINARIES — NOMINEE INFORMATION

Kristi Daley envisioned, developed and implemented a data entry system that replaced a time-consuming and costly Excel-based tool. She created “PEERS” - Planning and Engineering Evaluation and Reporting System - used to capture data for operational and executive reports in Planning and Engineering at MTS Allstream. PEERS enables managers, directors and the Vice President of Planning and Engineering to run customized reports pivoted on indicators important to their business functions.

Prior to PEERS, data was captured on Excel spreadsheets, which had numerous concerns including missing data and lack of accountability. Hours and hours of time were spent by managers and directors searching and explaining these errors and lost data.

On her own initiative, determination and personal time, Kristi designed a solution to eliminate these concerns. On a very limited budget, she gathered the requirements and worked with a contractor evenings and weekends from November 2007 to March 2008. The result was PEERS, a database system that resolved the current issues, met departmental needs and provided an improvement in user capability. PEERS dramatically improved the availability, accuracy, and integrity of data required to manage the Planning and Engineering department – and resulted in significant cost and time savings.

PEERS is currently used by all managers, directors and Vice President of Planning and Engineering to capture and report on all business metrics used to manage the department.
